Thanks Giving and Parents arrival

So thanksgiving day started out early for me. I participated in the Turkey Trot 5k that started at 8:00 a.m. it was a great start to my day. I ran the race with my dear friend and co-classmate Elizabeth I was so proud of us we finished the race in about 41 min.
Came home watched the "Macy's Thanksgiving Day" parade which is tradition in my family.
Then went to Elizabeth's house and hung out till heading to the Pipers.
My thanksgiving FEAST.
It was a 4 course meal
Started with Butter Nut Squash soup with bread, it was so delicious.
Then Salad, olives, and a plate of different kinds of cheese
Then the main course with Turkey, Mashed potatoes etc

WE were full needless to say then got into a heated warm pool, and had pie at 10:00 P.m.
It was a wonderful way to spend thanksgiving. I was with dear friends, family, and good food.

The next day my parents arrived from the Philippines. Yesterday we went to target and did some shopping. As we walked the isles my mom said "I am feeling a little overwhelmed" I think the shopping was a culture shock for them, so many choices. As we shop they keep telling me what it is like in other countries shopping. Though they have not been gone long, I think the American way of life can and is a bit overwhelming at times. Then grocery shopping with them was a trip, my dad got so excited with all the options and we ended up with some extra fun foods in our cart.

It has been nice to have my parents here with me, we are making it work with 3 people in my little place. And it's been amazing to hear there stories of where all they have been and what they have been doing. Such a great reminder of the World that is beyond this land.
